Setting up an investment structure in Guernsey

I assisted a private individual's family office set up an investment structure to become a regulated fund in Guernsey under the private investment fund regime, which saw them launch with an estimated final closing value of £500 million. Prior to forming this structure to allow third party funding, the client operated as a family office investing their own capital through various offshore structures. This was particularly complex as the private investment fund regulation in Guernsey is still very new and applying it in conjunction with fiduciary law and tax planning made it a very interesting case to work on.

Unregulated fund structure for a Swiss multi-family office

I am working on an unregulated fund structure for a Swiss multi-family office to invest in a UK commercial property development. The structure comprises of eight multi-jurisdictional investors, whom have structuring via various trust and company arrangements onwards into the new vehicle. This is essentially a complex joint venture and I am facilitating more and more of these in the private client wealth space with large investment opportunities, from discussing possible structuring options, analysing tax advice from various jurisdictions, coordinating the corporate drafting and ultimately understanding the wealth of the clients who are very high net worth prestigious individuals.
