Sale of family business and relocation assistance
After the successful sale of their multinational business our client wanted to relocate with his family so that they could spend more time together and enjoy their new wealth. The Channel Islands were selected as their new home due to their safe and stable political and economic environment plus the connections to the UK and mainland Europe. As our client was new to the location, JTC Private Office offered the perfect solution to help guide the family on their new adventure including relocation services, wealth planning and personal support to help the family with wills, social networks and schooling options.
Family office restructure with outsourcing and payroll services
An established Mexican family was seeking to relocate their family office to a different jurisdiction as their activities were no longer restricted to Mexico and also due to privacy concerns. JTC Private Office was brought in to arrange formal advice from an international tax practitioner and then to execute the proposed restructuring.
JTC’s international scope was important here as the family required services to be performed in a number of locations including, the BVI, Cayman, USA and Jersey. JTC Private Office worked to ensure a fully joined up approach across all parties. Advice included restructuring and fiduciary services, payroll set up for the household and family office staff, and security arrangements.
Advising an active business executive
Our client is the founder of a successful private equity business that has seen exponential growth over a number of decades and which is aiming for an IPO in the near future. Busy running this business, he found he did not have time to provide proper oversight to his family’s financial affairs. The client asked us to shape a financial strategy to meet both current and future financial objectives. Combined with this was his and his wife’s desire to create a foundation focused on education ensuring the constructive use of their family wealth for years to come as well as their legacy.
The client’s dedicated Private Office advisor worked closely with the client to understand his goals and aspirations. A strong team of tax, investment and philanthropic experts were assembled. We made sure they had proven track records in handling multi-jurisdictional families and carefully project managed the various processes on behalf of the client.
