Peer review:

I have known William in a professional capacity for over twenty years during which time he has established himself as one of the leading practitioners in family law, he is renowned for his expertise in difficult financial cases where his background in commercial law sets him apart from many of his competitors. I could wax lyrical about his sensible commercial approach and his wonderful manner but ultimately it’s all trumped by the fact that he is someone we recommend unequivocally when it really matters.

Successful challenge in divorce financial settlement which doubled award

I acted for the wife on her successful application to set aside a consent order compromising her claims upon divorce on the basis that her husband was guilty of material non-disclosure. The allegations of non-disclosure (which were proven) related to the existence and operation of international trusts. Since then we acted for our client in the new five-day hearing. The main issue for the court was how to approach a re-hearing of this type, where fraud has unravelled the consent order. In particular, whether there should be a full rehearing of all issues, or whether the court should just consider the previously omitted or undervalued assets with the remainder of the consent order remaining intact. he case demonstrates our involvement in cutting edge cases which play a significant role in shaping the future of family law.  Our client was awarded an additional £6.42 million (almost doubling her original award).
